THE STUDIO
Located at Hegleallee 4 in Potsdam, UNFOLD offers Berlin- and Potsdam-based artists the opportunity to reimagine our gallery rooms — to shape, transform, and redefine the space through their vision.
With two exhibition rooms and one immersive chamber, each residency becomes a living dialogue between artist, space, and community.
ABOUT
Hosted at Villa von Kleist in Potsdam's historical center, UNFOLD offers artists a shared setting to present work in relation to others. Each exhibition becomes a temporary holding - for a body of work, for a question, for a moment of becoming.
UNFOLD is not a retreat from the world, but a small opening within it: a pause in which artistic practice can be placed into public view, without commercial pressure, and in dialogue with community.
We are drawn to art when it pierces the surface. Layered, thought-provoking work invites us to look again, to sit with ambiguity, to notice what shifts inside us as we engage with it. Meaning unfolds slowly, through feeling as much as thinking, and what we encounter is never only what's in front of us. In this way, art becomes a doorway rather than a destination— an ongoing unfolding that opens new ways of sensing, interpreting, and understanding the world within and around us.
